Eddie Cantu

Eddie Cantu is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Law. He has been practicing law for 25 years and has been Board Certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 20 years.

His began in the late eighties, a time like now when the national economy was in shambles and the recession has also hit Texas. It was the time when Banks and savings and loans were failing and foreclosures were at an all time high. It was in this environment that he began his career with one of the first Law firms to specialize in consumer bankruptcy law under the tutelage of two of the first attorneys in Texas to receive Board Certification recognition in Consumer Bankruptcy Law.  The firm has three offices and in 6 months he was running the Law office in Brownsville, while the partners were starting a new office in Austin. The following year he transferred to Austin where he ran that office. Cantu and Hickson formed and have been in business since 1992.

Eddie Cantu has devoted his entire career to the practice of Bankruptcy law and his filed thousands of cases in his career. He has seen the economy go up and down during his 25 years of practice and he has seen the bankruptcy laws change substantially during this time.
